New peer-reviewed paper: Evolution of the ESA CCI Soil Moisture climate data records and their underlying merging methodology

TU Wien have published a new article detailing the evolution of the ESA CCI Soil Moisture product. The article has been published in ESSD:

Details of the evolution are provided from it's first release in 2012, to the most recent release at the end of 2018 (version 4.4). This article gives details of the merging methodlogies, how it has developed between versions and demonstrates the benefit of the improved accuracy of the product over time to the product users.
